Luxurious Louis Vuitton

The name Louis Vuitton has been tantamount with luxury travel since 1854. Louis Vuitton began in France as a simple family business but has become an internationally recognized icon of sophistication and elegance. Prestigious Louis Vuitton is recognized as the world’s leader in luxury.
Louis Vuitton’s beginning was as a luggage and trunk maker. His skills landed him a position making luggage for the Empress Eugenie de Montijo, wife of Napoleon III. In 1854 he started his own shop and began creating stackable luggage. Up to this point luggage was traditionally round topped and difficult to stack. Louis Vuitton’s popularity soared and his business was a huge success. By 1876 he had developed the LV trademark logo that is still used today.
Today Louis Vuitton luggage is still made by hand; each trunk can require 60 hours to complete and each suitcase may take as many as 15 hours. The key to each piece of luggage is hand made so that those with multiple pieces will need only one key. A fine example of a timeless LV hard-side suitcase is the Alzer 65 featuring LV’s signature Momogram Canvas.
The Louis Vuitton brand is considered a status symbol. As such, it is one of the most counterfeited brands in the world. LV has wisely chosen to limit the avenues for marketing their products to their own boutiques and their own website. LV offers no discount sales and it does not have a duty free stores. Louis Vuitton has created an environment to allow them control of their pricing and famous product quality.
The signature brown Damier Canvas created in 1888 and the Monogram Canvas material created in1896 to protect against counterfeiting are still in use today. Ironically, only a small portion of those products in the general population that carry LV initials are authentic currently.
No longer does LV only produce luggage and travel accessories. Louis Vuitton is a fashion leader with men and women’s clothing lines, jewelry, watches, belts, accessories, sunglasses, wallets, handbags and many other items associated with elegance and high fashion.
